Mangal Lakshmi Written Update 16 October 2024: Mangal and Kusum are introduced in the beginning of the episode when Mangal questions Kusum on how she could allow Sowmya to take part in the wedding since it was Kusum who sent Sowmya out. Kusum in turn asks Mangal why she should be bothered if Sowmya becomes a part of her wedding.
Rather, Kusum reminds Mangal that Sowmya is in the same office as Adit, and people will talk about why Sowmya did not show up at Adit’s wedding. Kuusm says that was the only reason she permitted Sowmya to be at the wedding. Kusum then turns to Mangal and asks her if she believes her.
To which Mangal answers that it is not only about belief, but she holds Kusum in such reverence that she would even worship her. Kusum tells Mangal that she is the one who gives her the power.
After that, Akshat tells the family that Mangal and Adit are going to have an interaction, which is in the form of a game.
She states that Mangal has to search for her own name within the mehendi applying the name of Adit and vice versa.
Shanti also sees Sowmya and says she understands that Sowmya will not be interested in the game and will be simply sitting there, so she suggests to her that she should accompany her to have some fun.
Shanti brings Sowmya to the kitchen and shows her the way of pounding the flour. Sowmya says it is beyond her knowledge, but Shanti calms her down and ploys her to try.
Sowmya ahs to herself and tries to do what Shanti had asked and beats the wheat flour.
At the same time, Mangal sees her name on Adit’s mehndi and then Akshat says that she has won.
Kusum however urges Adit to concentrate and search for his name among the mehndi on Mangal. Adit consents and it turns out exult also that he finds his name.
When the flour is done pounding, Sowmya passes it to Shanti, who then tells her to boil a few potatoes for her.
Sowmya agrees, but when engrossed in boiling potatoes on the gas, scalds her hand and her palm gives way igniting and ruining the potatoes with the hot water on the ground.
Adit, noticing this, tells Sowmya to be more cautious in telling her that Mangal backs into the kitchen quite often and that it to touch in the way that Sowmya did might risk her. Mangal overheard this ooh la la. This.
Adit, knowing full well that Mangal is in earshot, makes this statement purposefully. Mangal says other people cannot attempt to lift it while Sowmya cares no more and goes to change and orders someone else to do the deviation. Sowmya agrees to leave and does so.
Adit and Sowmya talk to each other over messages. In the course of this discussion, Kusum pronounces that Adit will stay over at Gayatri’s house for the night. Adit wants to know why it should be so.
In Kusum’s view in this case, it is a matter of custom that the bride and the groom should not meet after the mehndi is applied to couples. It is because all the males in the house will go to Gayatri’s house and they will return the following day for the wedding. Akshat says yes.
Sowmya tells she will also go out, but Kusum requests her to wait behind, and Shanti dares the Sowmya of any such idea and says she should remain over and help her instead. Sowmya consents.
In the car ride back to Gayatri’s residence, Lakshmi realizes she is missing her phone. So she informs Karthik to drive back since she suspects she left her phone behind. But soon enough, Lakshmi discovers her mobile in her handbag.
As they head back, Lakshmi sees a person trying to peek into Adit’s house. She inquires asking who this fellow is, to which the man introduces himself as a saree vendor. He says that he passed by this house and assumed there would be an event so he came to sell sarees.
Lakshmi gets to see the collection the man has and she is surprised to find out he has a saree that was given to Mangal by Adit as a gift. The man replies it is only 300 rupees. This makes Lakshmi think that Adit must have bought it from this man and not Chandni Chowk as he claimed.
At that time, Kusum has put the bridal dress down in front of God and prays that everything be in place on the day of the wedding. Sowmya notices the bridal dress.
